About

Mission Oceah Oceah SUP X YOGA aspires to connect people of all nations with and to water.

Our Story First Nations sisters Jenifer, Sharon and Lana were introduced to SUP in 2009 they immediately fell in love with it. With their passion for outdoor adventure, their connection to yoga and love of surfing they conceived Oceah Oceah to share SUP with everyone and NOW Kayaking. "As Indigenous women, we are taught that women have a responsibility to the water and it is with these teachings that we find passion and purpose in sharing paddling, connecting people and building community on the water on Lake Ontario and all the waters of the world". We believe that by connecting to the water, especially in an Urban setting it strengthens our ties and relations to water. Expanding consciousness on how we relate to water, use water and protect water. Water is Life.

History of SUP Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is a hybridization of Canoe Paddling "hoe wa'a" and surfing "he'e nalu", in the Hawaiian language, it's an emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. The sport is an ancient form of surfing, and reemerged as a way for surfing instructors to manage their large groups of students, today it is practiced by people all over the world, on oceans, lakes and rivers as a way to connect with the water, community and self. Done standing up on a large surfboard with a long paddle, paddle boarding is a fun way to get a full body workout while exploring and experiencing the calming beauty of water.

Benefits - Paddle Boarding tones and strengthens your core, arms, legs, and aligns your whole body from the soles of your feet up. Paddle boarding relieves stress, promotes balance, and the connection and interactions with nature increase your mental and over all well-being.

Location - Both locations are easily accesisible by car, biking or transit and offer parking and easy access to the water.

Budapest Beach in Toronto is one of the best places to paddle in Toronto as it provides so much to see and do. Feel free to paddle into the open waters of Lake Ontario for a beautiful view of the city.
